On 13 July 1817 Richard Longhurst married Elizabeth Collins at Newchurch in Kent. My problem is that there are TWO Richard Longhursts christened in Orlestone Kent (about 5 miles away) One in 1780 the son of John & Sarah and the other 1785 the son of Richard and Ann,
Richard and Elizabeth christened their children at Ruckinge (within 5 miles) between 1818 and 1833.
Is there a sure way of proving which Richard Elizabeth married please?

Hi there Alan - you already have a Longhurst thread so it would be better to continue with that one :-)

I have at last found the elusive 1851 census entry for Richard and Elizabethgiving his age as 65 and hers as 58. So the Richard that I am looking for is the one christened in 1785.
Problem solved thank you
