Thanks again,Liz.I realised yesterday it looked like the overend family and not Crerand. It certainly seems to be "my" Storey family that's involved. |

Terry, my 1861 census with 'Crerand' on it has been mistranscribed by fmp. It should read 'Overend.' The children should all be 'Story.' Helen has posted the same census above but transcribed on Ancestry. sorry should have made that clear to you. |

Alviegal.Marriage of "Mrs."Ann Storey to Hugh Overend in 1852 looks a very likely match for me,as her first husband died about 1843. |

Dear AnnCardiff, sorry it's taken so long to reply. My main interest regarding my query is with the Storey/Story family.Your replies have been very helpful, but also thrown me a little,as to the relationship between the 2 families. My search started with my Uncle, Edward Storey,b.1909,Shildon.Then his father,Charles Storey,b.c.1873,Shildon.Next his father,Edward Storey,b.c.1839,Shildon and to Ed.Storey,b.c.1811,Co.Durham.In the 1841 Census is where I found Hugh Overend,b.c.1815,Ireland as a lodger. It's made me wonder if my research is correct as by your replies, some Story's are Irish born.Sorry to be so long winded but any help would be very much appreciated. |
