................but nothing to proove that it is him.

Edward isn't showing either, but as he died in WW1 I'm thinking that he may have joined the army between 1901 and 1911 and so may be overseas.
So, could Henry have joined up too??????

Hi Reggi no I did not look for marriages for the girls but will do so this afternoon and thanks for the 1911 for Mary.
Prickly Hololy thanks for the birth and death for Maud.
Glitter Baby - HITCHER no wonder I could not find it on Ancestry. Thanks.
Catherine thanks for your help. I don';t think there is anything else at present. If so, I will return!!
My granny was engaged to Edward Addenbrooke Fletcher. He had originally gone to Australia in 1914 with his brother Henry Mossop Fletcher for a new life. When war broke out he came back in 1915 to serve in the British Army but Henry stayed and died there. He was killed in action and the family has a letter advising his mother of his death with commiserations to my granny for her loss. She subsequently married Edward's uncle so still became a Fletcher although we might not have been here had she married Edward. Funny how things work out isn't it?
Thanks to everyone. Pat

ErikaH Report 8 Jan 2014 11:45

Have you looked for marriages for the older daughters?

How do you know that they were all alive? What proof have you?

And have you checked that the names on the 1901 census are their actual given names? (As with your search for 'Kate')

Help – I cannot find this family on the 1911 census. I have access to Ancestry and have searched for them but with no luck. It appears that the whole family has been missed off.

Martha Fletcher born 1849 Weston widow
Robert Mossop Fletcher born 1878 Weston son
Maud Fletcher born 1880 Weston daughter
Mary Fletcher born 1882 Weston daughter
Edward Addenbrooke Fletcher born 1886 Weston son
Henry Mossop Fletcher born 1888 Weston son
Clara Fletcher born 1891 Weston daughter

Martha was widowed in 1892 and the family were on the 1901 census living with mother at Wimberley Hall, Stonegate, Weston, Lincolnshire.

They were all alive in 1911 so should be there somewhere, either separately or together, but as I have said I cannot find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
