Hi, I am trying to find any information regarding the Ashender family in the Sussex area during the early 1800s.

Have you looked at www.familysearch.org? Lots of Ashender/Ashendens there, many in the Hastings area.

Hello Michael and welcome to the GR community.

Before anyone can help you some more information would be needed.

First names, marriages etc. whatever you know.

How much research have you done yourself?

No point in our looking for that which you already know................

Also, it is better to be specific when requesting help......................

As you don't appear to have anyone of the name in a GR tree, we can't even guess who you are looking for.............

There is no record on any census of the name in Sussex.......unless it has been mis-transcribed

A very large number of ASHENDENs on the census for Sussex.

Thanks everyone for your advice, it seems that the name I was asking about was in fact Ashenden, not Ashender. I have made some progress since I received your informative advice. Thanks again. Mike
