So you do not have the marriage cert to see if he names a father on it

I have started to look at my son in laws side of the tree for my new granddaughter.
heres is what I have got up to.

his ggrandfather,
Reginald harry herod,born 1894 tharston Norfolk,this comes under depwade reg dist.

I have his marriage to Nellie j claxton in june 1918 at great Yarmouth Norfolk.

on trying to find him on the censusi have the following,
1911 he is in west ham not sure why as I do not have access to record.
1901 he is with his grandmother,eliza a mears born 1825 Middlesex,she is a widow,
1891 she is with her husband and another child with the herod surname.

if anyone could help me to sort out where the parents of these 2 herod boys are I would be most grateful,
until I sort this out I cannot continue very far.
