Thank you Syliva, Dea and Yvonne - I do have access to ancsetry but like to come on and get advice when I need it. This is a tricky one due to the common name. Hmmm, I SUSPECT the 1799 marriage between James Woods and Mary Robinson is the correct one, as my ancestor Samuel Woods was baptised in Farnworth near Prescot not long after in 1803. |

You should get the death certificate, that will tell you where he died. Prescot was the registration district for a large area but Prescot itself is not particularly big, so he may have lived elsewhere. Do you know who he was married to, that might help find him in the 1841 census. |
