You appear to have deleted one of your threads that had several answers on, but fortunately most answers were also on the thread highlighted below.

You are obviously reading the answers on threads as you have said here where you got the fact that he was a Shipwright from, but that question was not asked on this thread. You say the information "you were advised" came from a census. That sounds as though you haven't seen the census?? Do you know which census and can you post it on the other thread please as the answers we have found appear to point to him being a Gardener - quite a difference.

post the census where William is a Shipwright and comment on the answers that have been found for you. Maybe we have all missed a trick and are following the wrong person/people

Thanks a million for all your help and apologies for causing problems, asking the same question three times.
With regard to the question of Shipwright occupation, this information I was advised came from a Census.
Once again, sincere apologies for any problem caused.

Looking for the marriage of Isabella to William Jardine a Shipwright, also born in Scotland c1847. In the 1881 Census they are living in Birkenhead. Cheshire. Any leads help will be appreciated.
