yes wildchild, i know about the scrapyard. i used to go past it on the bus going into town, little knowing i was related to them....... distantly my great great grandad's sister emma was married to guy's son

Probably not much help as you are looking so far back, but there is a large family of Taronis in Birmingham who seem to be there for many years.
I remember them from my childhood in the 1950s
They had a scrapyard in Aston Church Road. If it´s not still there, it certainly was until quite recently.
