Many thanks for all your replies. They have been most helpful in enabling me to continue my research.
I already had the 1901 census, but appreciate the information about the 1894 marriage certificate giving Elizabeth's father's name from MarieCeleste.
The 1891 census from Batman's daughter is great, along with details about her brother in 1911. How do I access the photos you mentioned?
The 1881 from census from MarieCeleste and Rootgatherer is also invaluable.

Hi Ann, if you're not a member of Ancestry then you could join their spin-off site Mundia. You have to register but it's completely free. You can search and view public members trees and see attached documents.
