I think your best course of action is to contact the local Family History Society - they hold parish records, usually on CD or in book form, which you can buy

Both Frampton Cotterell and Westerleigh are not to far from Olveston but which one?

Looking for information on my Great Grandfather x 3 James Williams born 1774 (c) Olveston Gloucestershire, on familysearch there is a marriage entry for a James Williams and Mary Thomas in 1797 Bristol.

The problem I am finding, do I have the correct James.

On the 1841 census there is a James Williams born 1772 Gloucestershire and James Williams born 1806 which I thought was James senior's son

On the 1851 census James senior seems to be living with his son James and family.

I have a death certificate for James Williams in 1856, farmer, age 84. Joseph Williams present.

The problem I have is on ancestry trees there a few trees with James Williams married to Mary Thomas but they have his birth as 1767 and death as 1816.

Have I the wrong death certificate? or even the correct James and Mary.

Any help would be appreciated.
