Monica Marchant was my maternal grandmother, her mother being Gladys Marchant...l was given all this information by my birth mother since deceased...she had letters etc giving this information...monica was born in london, and was 18 when she had my mother, l found a Monica that was born in 1917, this was back in 2009, l spoke to her son, who said that he believed she did in fact give up a child (my mother)..but l have since lost contact with this person..l can find a Monica Marchant in 1914, but none born in 1917. l do not know if she is alive or deceased as the tree owner no longer seems to be on here, but l would presume that she is deceased..l did find a marriage certificate for Monica she married the tree owners father in 1944. l really need to find both Monicas birth records so l can check which one had Gladys as their mother. The spelling of Marchant is correct on my birth mothers birth certificate. Hope this is enough information, thanks for all the replies.

Moira I have Marchant in my family tree...it is a very common name and very commonly transcribed as Merchant or Marchent.

l am trying to find the above lady, so l can see if her mother was gladys, no matter how hard l try l cant seem to find the right one, the one l am looking for was born in 1917, but the records search does not find her birth, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..thanks
