Hi, yes Ellen did marry again. You are right it was to Howkins. Regards the birth it could be possible that George was not the given name. Maybe George was actually Henry?????? and after his dad passed people called him little George in memory of is poor old dad and it just stuck. Either way it is troublesome & annoying! Birth's should be relatively straight forward to find........................I Wish. Thanx Shirley

But still no George - unless Wm Henry has become George????? George maintains an age on census that makes his birth 1861/2, which was Wm Henry's year. Did he have a third name that wasn't on the registration, but then took his dead father's name at some point??

Hi, father's name was also George, an iron moulder who died Dec 1868 age 40 - Stourbridge. Father's name is on the marriage details 28 Oct 1888 i.e Father George Harbage (deceased).

Hi, yes I looked at the war dead. The gentleman that died in Iran does not have an age listed, but George would have to have been about 54 yrs by 1917. Jane Harbage did not mention him again..............not the way to treat a war hero. thanks Shirley
