Hi Shirley
The first post is the baptism of my gt. grandfather. The second is probably the same family but have not found them having a child named William.
There is a tree on Ancestry with parents William Rivers and Ann Whiffen who have three sons, Richard, William and John.
Have found a John Rivers at about the right time around Woolwich and Eltham, close to Greenwich. He had children named William, Ann (2), and John.
William Rivers had a daughter Harriott who was buried 27/03/1810 just before the baptism of Richard's daughter Harriot on 29/04/1810. This is from LMA records.
Have a possible marriage for Harriot to Samual Mann in Deptford, 1836. Cannot find anything else after this date.
Thanks Jackie

My gt. grandfather, Richard Rivers, was born and baptised in Greenwich, in 1821, his parents were Richard and Hannah Rivers. Other children were Harriot, 1810, Thomas, 1812, John, 1815, William, 1818 and George, 1825.
There are trees on Ancestry with a marriage of a Richard Rivers to a Hannah Briginshaw in Harrow, 1807, but I do not think these are the right people.
Richard Rivers, a widower, married Sarah Wood, a widow of this parish, in Deptford, on 8/06/1801 - witnesses were William Rivers and Elizabeth Nicholson. Richard and Sarah went on to have two children in Eynsford, Kent, Mary ,1801 and Thomas, 1805.
William Rivers, first married in Greenwich in 1790 to Elizabeth Humphries. Their first child Thomas was born in Eynsford in 1791. Other children followed.
In 1801 William Rivers, a widower, married Jane Poulter in St. Mary's, Lewisham. The curate wrote in William from Eynsford and Jane from Chipstead.
I believe that the above ties both Richard and William to Eynsford, Kent, and think that they are probably brothers born to William Rivers and Ann Whiffen.
In 1807 in Shoreham, Kent, Hannah Bowkes/Boakes has her daughter Sophia baptised. The father is not named.
Sophia Rivers married Henry Beasley, in 1831, in Greenwich.
On the 1841 Hannah Rivers, born out of county. is with two of her sons, Richard and George in Greenwich, Kent.
1851 Hannah Rivers, living with daughter Sophia Beasley, both born Shoreham, Kent.
From familysearch.org I have found a James and Hannah Boake/Boke having two children in Eynsford in 1803 and 1805. However, cannot find their marriage.
Shoreham and Eynsford are very close so is Hannah, Sophia's mother, the wife of James? Is Sophia Richard's child?
A Mary Ann Boakes, the daughter of James and Hannah? marries in Greenwich in 1825 - then seems to disappear. Did Hannah bring her child, the daughter of James, with her to Greenwich?
Also I have never been able to find Richard Rivers' death.
Any thoughts, information, confirmation etc. would be very gratefully received.
