Hi I wonder if any one could tell me how long have death certificates been issued and when were they first issued, also in which country.

Many thanks

Polly.

p,s, I have to go out all day and into the evening so I will be unable to reply to any replies straight away.

Which country are you interested in?

Have you thought of googling for info?

England/Wales - since July 1837

Scotland - since 1855

Now look for info for other countries by googling 'civil registration'.....and the name of the country
