Hello can someone help with a look up for the Hewlett's of Taunton c1770's.
I have found out a little bit here and there but had the good fortune of coming across an unrelated Will that lists the family. Unfortunately this is where my luck ran out and I've been stuck since. I'll list what I know:
George Hewlett c1745-1816, Harness and coach builder, Taunton, Somerset (in business circa 1790-1816)
Sarah ? c1745, Wife
Isabella, c1770, Daughter, Married John White, 07/05/1793
Charles, c1771, Son
Mary, c1772, Dau
George, c1774, Son
James, c1776, Son
Martha, c1777, Dau
Nancy, c1778, Dau
Any info that can point me in the right direction would be welcome but I would really appreciate if anyone is able to tie any of these names to a parish for a marriage or births?
Thanks in advance
Simon

I forgot to mention, I have the marriage of Isabella and John White in the parish of St Mary Magdelane's, Taunton, and the source of George's business advertisements was the Taunton Courier. The Will I mentioned was of Thomas Eales of Plymouth c1794/5.

Thanks Ann

I found this on IGI and thought this was going to be the most likely. I've noticed that there is nothing that is coming up in this index for the Taunton area, where I would have expected the children's christenings so was wondering if IGI had 'mapped' this area for the time period? There is evidence (from the Will) of the Devon connection and later property is noted in Exeter (Will of 1839) so this is worth looking at.

Thank you :-D

Wow, Chris Ho, I don't know how I missed that. I could kick myself for running out of time at the records office, I could have had a copy of that Will already. Doh!

I'm gonna see what Sally Maclean might be able to help with.
I really appreciate you help guys and gals.

Have a wonderful Christmas :-D
