Like many others here I am more than happy to do look-ups but when I see that there are already 4 other threads on the same family I am very reluctant to do so. It would mean reading through all 4 threads to make sure that I don't repeat something that's already been found.

Please, Georgina, do as MC suggests and add to your previous thread instead of starting a new one.

Hi,
Parents William Beresford Wray and Elizabeth Wray formerly Bainbridge. 1851 census record is correct, they lived at 2 Austen St, Birkenhead. The father, (my g.g.grandfather) W.B.Wray formed six of the siblings into a concert group called The Little Nightingales, first here, then he took them to Australia on a tour, to Melbourne, also for his health, he had consumption and died there in April 1861, the mother and children came back to Liverpool in November 1862. It's the correct family, daughter Mary Agnes is my great grandmother.

Georgina, it would help us enormously if you would add requests for info on a member of the same family on one of the existing threads (in keeping with Genes' terms & conditions) - it saves us repeating research already done (as I just have with the baptism) and it's much better for us if we have the background to the family all in one place.

Hi Georgina, do you know what the circumstances were that caused the family to go to Australia and come back again? Have you got records to confirm it's the same family?

Who are his parents please

Prehaps you could give us the 1851 census

Georgina

Georgina Report 1 Dec 2013 11:16

Hello,
Can you please help me find Walter William Wray, born 1848 in Everton, West Derby, Liverpool. He is in 1851 census with parents and two sisters, in Birkenhead. The whole family were in Australia in 1861 so no record of him here, the family returned to Liverpool in 1862, and I know Walter William Wray was alive in 1864 because he was a witness at his oldest sister Elizabeth's marriage, in Birkenhead. After this, I can find no record of him, either census, marriage or death, there are loads of William Wrays all over the country, but hardly any Walter William Wrays and I have no idea if any of them are him!
Hopefully,
Georgina
