There's a member's tree on Ancestry.co.uk, which says her DOB was 22/04/1772 in Edinburgh, but without any verification.
It doesn't suggest parents' names.

But even putting in that exact DOB, she doesn't appear on ScotlandsPeople.

Margaret had a sister; this record gives their mother Isobel's maiden surname:

Death of Margaret's mother:

So Margaret was orphaned at age 8.

Of course, we don't know if Margaret and Edmund James were Susanna's parents, as can't find her birth record.

Wow this is looking good for Marit...........there may have been a name change when she moved to Norway...........but you never know what these littled titbits of informatiom may lead too.

I have just recieved this question from a Norwegian cousin, Marit Grande, can anyone shed some light on this Scotish problem please?

"My great great grandmother was Susanna Dallas (also named Susanna Moor Dallas), stories tell that she was born in Edinburg in Scotland, parents Edmund James Dallas and Margaret Antonius. Some other story name her parents as Michael Dallas and Marie Hammond.
Susanne married in Oslo in 1793, I think she was born in 1772 or 1773.

Do you know were I can find out more from the Dallas family in Scotland???"
