Looking for John Waugh prior to him getting Married 1705 Haswell Co Durham , he lived at thorp moor ,the curate/churchwarden of easington spelt the surname in various ways up to that time , then there was a change of curate/churchwarden and then the surname was spelt as it is Waugh from the on ?

If this is his father who lived all his life in Durham, I would assume John lived there too prior to his marriage

Thanks for the suggestions
i have been to durham record office and broused there parish and estates records and can not find a link to John Waugh Married 1705 all have various spelling of the surname Woof/Wauf/Wouffe/Waff/Woff/ and others, the tree online ive put his assumed birth to William Wouf and Elizabeth Melsonby "from Haswell" but its a ssumption because i cant find a positive link to the Waugh surname???
