Hi,
Advice please !!!!!!!

I am looking to send off for my first will, on Ancestry it says John Sykes - death 14th Dec 1926,/ probate - 12th Feb 1927, death place Herefordshire, registry Hereford,
Now I have info - (not death cert) that John died in a Middlesex hospital even though he lived near Ledbury Herefordshire. I have found death entry Dec 1926 Pancras London age 71 he was born in Loughborough area in 1855.
Is it common to have death place different on probate?
OR can I just use info listed on Ancestry?

Many thanks
Sally

He lived near Ledbury but died in the University Hospital Middlesex

His will will be proved in the area he normally lived ,where he died is irrelevant

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1966 about John Sykes
Name: John Sykes
Probate Date: 12 Feb 1927
Death Date: 14 Dec 1926
Death Place: Herefordshire, England
Registry: Hereford

The transcript is probably as the person doing it thought it should be

That's great, it just confused me when it said on Ancestry his death place was Herefordshire when it was Middlesex.
Thank you Shirley

A Will is proved in whichever registry district it is lodged by the Solicitor, or other individual, carrying out the function.

When you apply for a copy, you will see from the form the info you are required to provide in order to identify the correct document.
