Find Ancestors

Hello everyone.
I have just received marriage cert for a Alfred Brookes born 1851 Derbyshire married a Emma smith on 28th march 1869 Birmingham .It shows Alfreds father as Charles Brookes . Alfred is living at Watery lane Aston Birmingham time of marriage.
I cant seem to find 1861 census to match Alfred Brookes and Charles Brookes living in that area .

Have you tried using surname variants?

Don't assume that the address in 1861 was the same as 8 years later

What was the father's occupation?

You know where Alfred was born.....use that info as your 'input' when searching

Looks like Luke 'moved on'.....................probably why Charles was named as 'father'
