Not sure how much research you have done but looking at the gap in the children's ages in 1851 I would guess he married twice (wife on the above censuses is Susan). There is this baptism:

I am looking for the ancestors of Freeman Roe, who born about 1808 an was a prominent hydraulic engineer. I believe he was born in Thrapston, but I am not sure if this in Northampton, where my family originates, or Suffolk. Any information to link him to the Northampton Roes would be most welcome.
