Phyllis Rayner (nee Kirkpatrick) married Harold A Langton in Manchester in 1961.

I am unable to find any children to that marriage in England but as Im now told they went at some point to Scotland (where they have sinced passed away). I was wondering if anyone could check Scottish records for any possible children?

If not I am happy to search for myself if someone could tell me the best (and hopefully not too expensive) Scottish site I could get some subs with?

Thanks for any information/advice

Regards
Cathie

ps I did post re these 2 people yesturday for an address look up and experienced some problems reading replies. However today I was able ro read the info send ok. I have posted a new thread as the original one was not on the same subject and the first thread and due to problems is now marked as answered. Hope this is ok as I am mindful not to duplicate threads. ;-)

If you are registered with ScotlandsPeople you can do a free search.

But you would not be able to view the certs as the births are within the last 100 years

ScotlandsPeople is not a subscription site and you need to buy credits

Cathie,
Unless you make a visit to one of the Scotlands People Centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Kilmarnock, it's not possible to check for any children born to this couple.
All BDMs can be viewed at any one of the 3 centres

As Glitterbaby said, there is a 100yr embargo on viewing records via the site.
Although you can do a free search on SP for births, there is no indicator for parents names.

For Example:
In the 20yrs after 1961, there were 40 children born in Scotland with the last name of Langdon.
16 were male and 24 female.
The search can be manipulated to find 1st names and places of birth registration only, but does not identify parents

EDIT:
Apologies , I searched for Langdon rather than Langton.
There were 33 Langton births in the same 20yr period

Thanks Glasgow lass and Shirley - yes I did get that info yesturday from Shirley but as I had huge problems with that particular thread (and /or my computer) and this new thread was actually looking for a birth rather than an address I decided to mark the other as answered.

All seems to ok today.
Thanks everyone for the useful info and taking the time to respond. I will now m,ark this thread as 'answered' to avoid any more mix up

very gratefl to you all

Cathie :-D

Phyllis was born in c1920 so would have been about 41 when she married
Harold

Any children they may have had would be late births in view off her age
