Hi Kelly

Post your Great Grandparents details and we will see what we can do.

[EDIT: this advice only applies to England & Wales - see Reggie's post below.]

Hi Kelly -

If your gr-grandparents married in 1837 or later:
Go to FreeBMD ( http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl ), select Type "marriage", enter your gr-grandparents' names and any other info you have about them, and click on "Find".

FreeBMD is free to use, as the name suggests.

If you have an idea as to which county they married in, then that's very useful to put in. Also a rough idea of when their marriage might have been - enter a range of perhaps 10 years just before the birth of their child/children.

That will narrow it down a bit.
Unless they have very common names, you may perhaps be able to decide which of the results is their marriage.

Then if you buy the marriage cert, that should give you their ages and their fathers' names.

Hello Kelly and welcome to the Community Boards... :-D

I will offer another piece of advice to that given above........take a look at the first couple of threads on this board - they are full of helpful advice for those just starting out. Good luck, and come back and ask questions on this thread which you are stuck. :-)

(I will let Kelly know that she has replies to her query.) :-)
