Find Ancestors

I am looking for a marriage for Robert Yalding & Catherine.
Family Search have a Christening record for Catherine Yalding at Saint Guthlake, Stathern, Leicestershire, 3rd July 1774 and her parents are named as Robert & Catherine. I can only find a marriage for Robert to Sarah Lee, not Catherine.

The record you seek may not be on line.............try the County Records Office

Very few records have actually been transcribed and posted to the internet

All other baptisms in the Batch for Yalding with father Robert have mother's name as Sarah.........before and after 1774

You may need to see the original to verify that it hasn't been incorrectly transcribed

I'm too far away to visit the County Records Office. I was thinking of contacting Family Search to see if they can check the transcription.

Catherine may not have been born in the Stathern and any marriage would probably have taken place in her home parish. Have you extended your search to other parishes?

I have checked all the surrounding parishes in the Phillimore marriage records and they have no record of a marriage between Robert Yalding & Catherine.
There is a Baptism in Saint Guthlake Stathern for a Catherine Sanday in 1747, (Robert was Baptised there in 1745), I was hoping she was the bride, but I have no trace of her after that, if only it was that simple!
