Thank you Prickles but I am afraid I deleted my last message before you posted as I realised that the info had already been posted.

It merely said that I believed the death posted above by Christina must be hers, even though the birth date on there was 1914 rather than 1904 - this must have been a mistranscription as both the death and the baptism show her birthdate as 3rd. October.

Therefore this lady never married.

My mother Phyllis may spiller was given up for adoption by Annie Caroline spiller in 1931.my mother then lived on 120 Stroud green road with the cook family.if Annie spiller moved in 1932 to islington,then I think she must have wanted a fresh start.it seem likely this is the same Annie Caroline spiller that lived on 9 Stroud green road.
I wonder if she married and ha more children

I spent over an hour yesterday trying to find the family on the 1911 census but had no luck.

I would be inclined to purchase a copy of the Spiller/Lacey marriage certificate to see what information that gives you.

It should give you the age of John and Alice at the time they married, whether or not they had been married before.......where they were living at the time of the marriage and their occupations.

Also the names of their Fathers (If they knew who their Fathers were) and their Fathers occupations which might help to find them on previous census records.

The names of the witnesses might prove helpful too.

The Baptism says Walthamstow which comes under the West Ham district...but was baptised in Hounslow???

Elizabeth, if you haven't got it already, it may be a good idea to buy her birth certificate. That should tell you where in the West Ham district she was born, which hopefully will help to find her in 1911.
