Thanks everyone - that was a great help to me - and I really like that bit of info on the theft. The 'Bartlett' side of my family are proving very interesting characters - I wish Hiram Bartlett had been in my direct blood-line instead of uncle as he seems the most interesting of all - I have several newspaper records concerning him. Elizabeth Bake, born and Christened in 1794 at Blackawton, Devon - died and buried in1880 at Blackawton. There seems to be no recorded marriage to William Hambling (1788-1864) (gunsmith, postmaster etc) but they produced 12 children. I am trying to get information on Elizabeth's parents FRANCIS and SARAH BAKER. Anyone any info for me? It looks like another dead end to me. :-( |
