mgnv....Many thanks for the above...sorry for the delay in acknowledging your posting but for some strange reason I have only seen it now..!
I was really suprised about the two younger children as he never made mention of them...(the Dodwell children were known about)....I have correspondence from him to my ggrandmother 1919 and no mention of Lilian and Richard jnr.

Looks like the son later on ...
Canada, Voters Lists, 1935-1980
Name: Richard Reay Location: New Westminster, British Columbia Occupation: Dock Worker Electoral District: New Westminster Year: 1940
Living at 1431 Seventh Avenue with Mrs Mary Reay (widow).
At the same address are a Francis R Cambridge, a high rigger and his wife - no first name for her as she's recorded as his (it always aggrieves me when a woman was recorded under her husbands first name, I know it was the practise but I don't approve!)

Erin - a couple of other resources for you to check: http://bccfa.islandnet.com/bccfa-search.php http://www.vpl.ca/bccd/index.php
BC has a closure law on BMDs - they're closed for 120/75/20 y - however, births thru 1903 released under the old law stay public. There is an exception for close family, and another exception if the person has been dead for 20y - for m.certs, both spouses need to be dead for 20y. http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/
So as not to be left out, the deli in our supermarket had a special on Black Forest ham, so I bought a few slices. Although mustard's OK in a pinch, my preferred relish is C & B branston pickle.

Sorry to offend the purists but I have both pease pud and a smidge of mustard, I haven't made my own pease pud in donkeys years but could be tempted to make a batch with a bot of wholegrain mustard in.

I can't get pease pudding, so I guess next best thing is chick-pease pudding aka hummus - had it with mustard - pretty good.
