As your other thread says you think you have the wrong line, suggest you buy some certs, and get factual info

Possible for the one married to Mary? East Retford district covers Gringley on the Hill:

Marriages Jun 1841 (>99%)

Was he married twice? There's one on the 51 census born 1816 Gringley with wife Ann and one on the 61 census born 1817 Gringley with wife Mary. Then again 71 census born 1816 Gringley with wife Jane.

Edit: Uhoh, different ones! The 81 census has both, one married to Jane, the other to Mary.

Welcome to the website for our village - Gringley on the Hill. We are an old established village in North Nottinghamshire near the South Yorkshire & Lincolnshire borders.
