No need to reply individually George. Good to have the information acknowledged.
It is interesting that BMDs all seem to be Molcher or variations and only Clark on some of the earlier census records.

Sorry for not coming back sooner but I have been waiting for a call from the eye hospital which has just come in, spent 20 minutes on the phone, re a bit of a mix up in my appointments, all sorted now.
Anyway Blimey
You have all given me so much info which I never thought about. It will keep me busy for ages analysing it all. But I have to careful how long I spend staring at this blasted screen im limited to 2 hours a day maximum, my wife watches me very carefully
.Im very interested in the name change aspect which has been mentioned, I will look into further

Choccy, there is a Frederick William Clark at Cross street on the 1881 and 1891 censuses - it really does look as if there was a name change.
Have to go now - will look in later to see what George thinks.

The same Clark family are on the 1891 - it is definitely Emily J on that image and living next door is a George Molcher, 39, Sawyer, born Woburn Sands.

Joseph's POB is given as Newport Pagnell, Bucks - which isn't that far from Woburn, where Joseph and Emily married - I think I would get that marriage cert if only to find out his father's name.

No Rule that one out as wife is Amelia. Joseph is an ag lab
BUT there is a Sarah Butcher listed in the household
