Hi

If anyone lives nearby, hoping some kind soul with a camera could take a snap of a headstone, assuming there is a marked grave.

Thompson Thomas 64 yrs Billinge Union Infirmary 12-Oct 1933 E 741 * C of E

I have a plan of the cemetery.

Many thanks

Why not try the cemetery manager direct ,they will have the records of the exact site of the grave ..

When I do a lookup at:
http://www.wiganworld.co.uk/stuff/cemetery.php?opt=cemetery

the header says:
* against grave number denotes unrelated burials, ie. Public grave, not all public graves are marked.

That's the case here - it seems there was a burial in 1862, then, 70y later, the grave was used as a common grave with 14 burials between 6/7/1933 and 21/10/1933.
Note that the date given is date of burial - I know this as my m-i-l is buried there.

Thanks - none of those names seem related to Thomas.

So it's likely the grave was not marked for any particular individual?

That would be my guess, but I would follow up with Shirley's suggestion and contact the cemetery and ask them if there's a gravestone. There's contact info at:
