Help please, found the marriage , 1866 Newington, London
Looking for the parish record, as to confirming the parents of William
which i have as Matilda fomally Webb, Terry
and William John Terry ? and to confirm the age of William Robert as i have seen another Robert William b 1846 ?
Have the children
as Matilda b 1825, Borough Surrey England
William Daniel b1831
iElizabeth b1830
William Robert , 1833 George the martyr
also two other children

Hi Jan m looking for the mariage in the parish records , so i can check the parents of William and his correct age, Im not to sure if this is the Right William and the right family who married virtue I I have been through to 24 pages of the parish records but to no avail , I managed to get the parents Matilda and William john Terry Bren

Just so you know, you will not find his mother's name on any marriage record.
I can't see the marriage on Familysearch.
So - are you saying you have a William Robert Terry born 1833 and you are looking for a marriage for him?

Might help if you tell us when you have him for sure, & how you came by him in the first place .

The marriage cirtificate does show the parents names Jan I have one in front of me ! date of the marriage is 99% im sure off,. If you find them on the parish records you can snip it and then save it

This one has no middle name.

I'm also wondering where the mother's name appears on the certificate.

Both parents names appear on Scottish marriage certs I think but never seen an English one with same info

She is on 1861 census as a servant

Ancestry cross ref her to Virtue Waller in 1871

Only times I've ever seen a mother's name is when she's been a witness or when the person getting married was illegitimate and mother had been written in the father's details.

Sorry Sorry made a mistake it is the fathers name found on the marriage certificate. IM a silly old F>>>T
you wont find them on the 1871 census, only Vrtue who was living with william waller, because Wiliam Terry died with in weeks of them being married.
They had one child William Terry b first Q 1866 Newington St Georges Southwark Surrey
Virtue then left London because she became ill and died that year 1871 at the age of 23 back in Norfolk to where her parents was,, and her son died Two years later at the age of 7yrs back in Norfolk. On the 1871 census under spelt Tooey sad story really
Although Virtue was as married when living with William Waller in the 1871 Census,
we could never find a marriage for them , also in the burial record she was down as Virtue Waller i found this in the parish records
I am trying to find inf on William Terry and his parents.
the son is on the 1871 census age 5 down as Robert W Terry

After a patient trial, the jury returned verdict of guilty on the second count of the indictment, charging him with indecent assault, and he was sentenced in the full penalty of two years imprisonment, and to be kept to hard labour"

If you are sure your William Terry married Virtue, it looks like you need to buy the marriage cert for his father's name doesn't it?
