i am looking for info on the 1841 census for ellen & james crook (husband &wife) they married in Manchester 1801/2..son William born 1822...james could be a blacksmith...thanks |

This is the only James and Ellen Crook that I can see together in Lancashire on the 1841 census - but they are not old enough to have married in 1801. This James was born about 1801 - have you got your dates right? :- |

I found the info on the igi family search sight..i have Williams marriage certificate for 1842..father is still alive |

This is the only marriage I can see in Manchester at that time. James is a weaver though on this one. |

This William Crook is a blacksmith striker. His age is listed as 15 but on the 41 census ages over 15 are rounded down to the nearest 5 or 0 so he could have been 15-19 making him born 1822-1826. He's with James Crook, 70 who is a cotton weaver. They're at the same address as Joshua, 30 & Catherine Crook, 25 & children. |
