My computer completely crashed so I couldn't get on to GR until now, but was also
I was busy with my very small puppy and it's been a bit hectic!
I will send a picture of my puppy, Rosie, for you to all see if they wish - she is absolutely gorgeous!
Hope you all had a very merry christmas and wish you a very happy new year.

Jayne,

I can work out a very few of the people who are in your tree, but I cannot see it or see the pictures.

Do you mean that they changed their names from Schleich to a new name during WW1?

Have you contacted anyone on here who have the Schleich's in their trees to see what they have found out?

Jayne, can you give us some hard facts about the family. Names and dates.

You say Johann changed his name to Schleich - what was it previously?

I'm afraid I'm getting a bit confused! You originally said that Henrich born c1790 came over during the war (WW1) but now it's Johann who came over before the war?

Hi Patchem,
Yes, the family info is in my family tree and have researched all of them and have found the pictures for them from my step grandma when she died.
Johann (John) came over to England and married as above and they lived in Norfolk whilst ww1 was ongoing, and they changed their names to Schleich.
What I would dearly like to know is if there is any information - German wise - as we don't know how to find any informations/records that might help with my quest.

Jayne, do you mean 1890 for his birth year? The holocaust usually (but not exclusively) refers to events in WW2.

Perhaps if you can give us details of their children - when/where born and when/where married (and to whom) then we can work back.

If he was born in 1790 he would not still be alive in 1914....

Hi Marie-celeste!
It was the first world war when Heinrich Schleich came over with his children as his wife either died, or was part of the holocaust and they ended up in London.
I just wondered if there is any information regarding this that I could research if there are any books or information that I might be able ?
Any help would be greatly grateful, if you manage to find anything helpful.
My puppy is now four weeks old and she's absolutely gorgeous and her name is Rosie, but we call her Rosie Posie! She is a labrador with the fox red on her head and her legs and she is really pretty, bless her, and her tail has a lightning strike tail when she looks like Harry Potter!
No problem for the info, but if you do come across some, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Jayne

Hello Jayne (and puppy!), which war are you referring to?

Hi folks - I have the Schleich family who came over to England - firstly in London and also in Terrington St Clement whilst the war was ongoing.
Heinrich's wife is not not known but . c1791 Germany. All of the children were brought over to England with him and married in London.
I've looked at some threads on your boards which also others have looked at , but I wondered if there is any information anywhere prior to Heinrich's coming over to England, or maybe information from Germany might be found in their archives?
Possibly a long shot, but there might be some information somewhere?

Also I have just had a very small, beautifully lovely Labrador puppy and we might be up and down with her!

Any information you could find would be really grateful.
