Jan Hubertus Karel Goffin was my great-great-great-grandfather.

His third daughter Antonetta was my great-great-grandmother.

Both are on the Genlias site and their records are held in Maastricht. The people there tell me that the details on the abstract records are complete and that no more is to be learned by looking at the originals, but is this accurate? It seems strange that for example a death certificate in Holland of 1864 would not at least give the occupation of the deceased.

Thanks for your contributions.

Hello Robert, how did you connect to him in the first place?

Jan Hubertus Karel Goffin (or Jean Hubert Charles Goffin) was born or baptised 22 Sep 1804 at Spaubek, Limburg, Netherlands.

His parents were Charles Joseph Goffin and Marie Janette Banens.

Who was this guy, what was his station in life?

There were three generations in Limburg yet this surname is particularly associated with the Hainault region of Belgium.

Can anyone help please?
