I'm not presuming that he was born where he married as there is no recollection of that person where he married... I will have to buy the certificate of Harold and Joyce marriage I know they divorced too. I know his year of birth from my father before I lost contact with him. The research I've looked at suggests he could have been born in west derby. Liverpool. Will have to actually get the certificates to be as accurate as possible I just don't want a dead end.

How do you know that Harold was born in 1929?

Don't assume that he was born where he married..................it certainly seems that Joyce wasn't

Is Harold Clarke still alive? If not, do you know when/where he died?

The death record may give actual date of birth (as provided by the informant) so may help narrow down the births you are looking at.

Kate, you really do need to buy their marriage certificate to get their father's details (if they knew them) so you can work back accurately.

You need to register but only the once, when you get to the ordering part make sure you tick the box that asks if GRO ref is known (that's the volume and page number, etc from the record above)

I have managed to get quite far back with my mums side of the family, with help from people off here, my uncle and loads of hours put in years ago to match up records... im currently looking for my fathers side but have very little information.
he is called anthony clarke 1957 and he has a brother david clarke 1954, who i have never met and could still be alive. there mother was called joyce barlow who ive just found out married Harold Clarke in 1953... his birthdate is 1929. most people and relatives were from around rochdale, bury area and i have 4 harold clarkes to choose from in 1929 from west derby lancashire which is the closest location... which then states that that harolds mothers maiden name is smith.... im unsure if its the correct one, cant find any matches on here and dont really know how i can find any more information. anyone have any suggestions?
