Find Ancestors

Hi folks.

This is a query about a half-blood sibling to my great-grandmother, rather than about a direct ancestor.

The man I'm trying to follow up is listed on the 1911 census in the home of Edward and Rosehanna E. SAY at 9 Dunraven Street, Caerau, Maesteg, Glamorgan. Rather than a son to the head of household, as recorded, I believe him to have been the son of Rosehanna, who was Edward's second wife.

I'm wondering if any fellow GR memebers might have any other information on him? The census says he was born in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, circa 1894.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You really need to buy the birth cert for William as that may show a fathers name or the marriage cert of Edward and Rosanna to see if she was a widow.

I have the marriage certificate for Edward Say and Rosehanna Elizabeth Williams, which shows the bride to have been a 29-year-old spinster.

As far as the birth index records suggested are concerned, if William was born in Tenby, the birth would have been registered in the Pembroke district, as was Edward and Rosehanna's marriage.

I had already seen the 1901 census record suggested for Rosehanna. The one suggesated for William in Neyland is unlikely to be the right one, as ther is no known connection between Rosehanna Williams and a family called Holland - her parents were Thomas Rees Williams and Susan Page.
