The elusive Evans family !!

I have an Elizabeth Evans b. 1888 Treherbert the dau of Rees Evans and Mary Ann ??? b. Merthyr Tydfil.

Rees Evans was born 1862 Llangadock, Wales the son of Thomas Evans b. 1824 Llansadwrn, Carmarthenshire and Anne ??? b. 1823 Llangadock.

I have Thomas on the 1841, 1851, 1871, 1881 and 1891 census returns but just cannot locate the family on 1861 census.

I have Rees on 1871, 1891, 1901 and 1911 census returns but cannot find him on 1881 census. he is not at home with Thomas and Mary Ann and at the age of 19 would probably have left home.

The next difficulty is establishing marriages for both Thomas and Rees.

Thomas was born 1824 and his first child John is born 1845 when Thomas would be abt 21 so expecting a marriage to be somewhere around the 1845 mark. Unfortunately I do not have the surname of his wife Anne.

Rees was born 1862 and his first child Annie (Anne) Jane was born 1887 Treherbert when Rees would be abt 35 so expecting a marriage somewhere around that time. Once again I do not have the surname of his wife Mary Ann.

I have tried and tried to get answers to these queries myself but have gone round in circles and still come out with nothing positive. Could anyone help please ? I would be very grateful for some assistance to help me see the 'wood for the trees' !!! Thank you.

I think you will have to get birth certs to find out the mother's maiden names.

Possible marriage for Rees but there are two Mary Ann's so either Evans or Richards!
