soldiers point anglesey info please

Hi
can anybody give me any info on soldiers point Anglesey I have googled it but the info is sparse and not what I am looking for
did they have weddings there if so where will the records be
I have a photo of my grandmother taken many years ago outside this building and she is dressed and has a flower pinned on her jacket it looks as if she is at a wedding
long shot I know but if they did do weddings when did they stop

Did you find this, Keith? It says Soldier's Point was a hotel at one time, so they probably did host wedding receptions.

The hotel may have hosted wedding receptions........it would not have been the venue for wedding ceremonies.

The concept of weddings taking place anywhere other than Churches/Synagogues etc or Register Offices is very new....................

it says in the report of the fire a counciler says he remembers going to a wedding 30 years ago
so must have done weddings up to 1980ish

The Marriages (Approved Premises) Regulations 1995 allow civil marriages to take place regularly in hotels, stately homes, civic halls and similar premises without compromising the fundamental principles of English marriage law and Parliament's intention to maintain the solemnity of the occasion etc., etc..........................
