Just received the 1871 marriage cert for the following:
Marriage Date: 16th July 1871
Charles KIRKLAND (aged 22) Father's name/Occupation: Richard Kirkland/Labourer.
Sarah Johnson (aged 19) living in Chesterfield Father's name/Occupation: William Johnson/Miner.
Witnesses John & Rebecca Heath.
Have Charles living in Yorkshire in 1881, saying he's married but wife isn't with him. Would appreciate any help in locating Sarah pre marriage.
Thanks in anticipation,

Why is his wife Mary Ann not Sarah? Same place and year of birth as Sarah. Same in 1891. She appears to be Mary Ann Cantrell from the 1881 who has lost a few years off her age.

Apologies for the delay in replying, daughter need the computer for uni work.
No address for Sarah on the marriage cert, simply puts 'Chesterfield'. Charles puts 'Newbold Road', no number.
Thanks for the information on the deceased children. Sarah is certainly proving to be a bit of a mystery, looks like I'll have to order Charles and Mary-Ann's marriage cert and see what he says his condition as to marriage was at the times, hopefully not another Kirkland is telling porkies.
Thanks for the help, very much appreciated. :-D
