Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me please? I have no living relatives to ask. My grandmother was born 1907 in Hendon and married Joseph Harold Hawkins in 1927. in Reigate. I cannot find her in the 1911 census age about 3-4, so no idea about any members of her family. Thankyou in advance

This is probably your grandmother....on the marriage dob is about 1905. And Bessie is a diminuitive for Elizabeth

1905 according to her death in 2004, do you know who registered her death - would they have know her birth year for sure?

Tracey, with that birthdate I would also suspect that she was the Blake child.

I also thought it peculiar that her daughter and son in law where named on the probate record for William James Nicholls in 1960 and not her, just made my think it was strange.

Wondered if this was Gertrude's death??

I think it's the Blake birth as well - unless William attended the registry office it would be recorded under the mother's name. He was serving in the navy, so possibly not around to go to the reg office - especially as in 1911 they were unaware he was married. I believe he should have got permission to marry, but they have recorded him as single, so I wonder if he kept it quiet?

And that Blake birthdate fits with the marriage certificate
