Hello, I was on Ancestry today at my local library and put in the name Byers Race and the entry below was one of the entries that came up

1868 UK poll books and electoral registers - Stranton Durham

P S B R
_ _ Byers Race, Kirkbridge, Bedale.

Byers lived in Bedale for most of his life and I have a lot of stuff about him so don't need any info but what I would like to know is, if he was on the elec roll for 1868 Stranton (Hartlepool) does it mean he had property there. Also does anyone know what the initials above ie P S B R mean. P and B is underlined for Byers but other people on the page had other initials underlined. Hope this is clear. Thanks

EDIT my spacing hasn't come out very well.

I notice on the above site there is also P.S.B.E. and P.S.B.B. and P.S.B.R.and P.S.S.S.

each time these letters are used they are followed by "Name and abode"

I cannot for the life of me think what they signify
