Not sure if this is relevant but Cramond is on the River Almond near Edinburgh. In the 18th century there were water powered mills there which worked Iron - usually scrap into tools etc. I know there was one called Peggy's Mill, the ruins are still there. The businesses were eventually absorbed by the Carron Iron Works at Grangemouth in the 19th century. |
