Trying to find out about the above, a great uncle. I know he was a 2nd Lt in Royal Fusiliers in WW1 and died in Surrey 1980 but know nothing about the in between time.

Can't see any births for Killingback mmn Wiltshire but given the era it's possible Dora was previously married and widowed.

As you probably know, only about 30% of WW1 service records survive. It is possible that his file was amongst those destroyed during WW2 bombing

At the very least, Robert's Death might have been registered by a relative - possibly an adopted child which wouldn't show up on the birth index as Killingback/Wiltshire
