Hmm - there is a difficulty deciding which marriage for an Alfred Jones 1896-1899 could be correct. Assuming they did actually marry, its most likely to be this one.

I haven't looked to see if there was another Jones/Cork marriage who Edith could belong to.

Although there are other Jones/Smith births, they are in Mansfield

Polly can be used as a diminutive of Mary, suggesting that Alfred Jones m Mary Ann A Cork.

To be 100% certain, a BC is needed ;-)

Known fact is that Alfred had a Daughter Edith and I found this

So looks like you are correct with Cork/ Jones marriage.

Just got to find that Cork born Chatham, doesn't help with different names Polly or Eliza. and now we have a Mary Ann.

Anyway just seen your remark on Polly used as a diminutive of Mary.

Anyway if I can't find it, will give them some work to do.
