Tom, the only way to find cause of death is to buy a copy of the death certificate. You can order it online from GRO, costs £9.25. All of the info needed is in my post above, when you commence the order tick the box that asks if GRO reference is known http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp
