Thanks very much to Alemap for replying with the information and for doing so very quickly. I been trying to find this for a long time. I didn't know about this online resource but I will be having a look at it sometime as I know there are other relatives in London to find burials for.

Hi. I am looking for some help in trying to find the burial for my Great Grandfather in London in Feb 1942 (during war time). His name was Thomas Henry Allen (sometimes used Allan) and he died on 8 February 1942 (age 68) at St Andrew’s Hospital, Poplar.

His sister Emily Carter (nee Allen) who lived in Bow/Poplar area, registered his death and arranged his funeral but there is no one left in the family who has any idea as to where he is buried. We believe it’s a shared grave possibly a paupers burial.

I have tried the following without success:-
Tower Hamlets Cemeteries Dept for all the cemeteries they keep records for;
Brockwood in Surrey; and
City of London Cemetary.

Additional info – He was born on 3 August 1873 at Limehouse, Stepney but lived in Wales and in Kent before he died in London. His wife died before him and is buried in Kent but he is not with her. Also, I have not had any success in trying to find any living relatives for his sister Emily to see if they would know.

Any help or suggestions as to where I can try next would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
