Alisoun is correct - journalier just means "daily", but that's when it's being used as an adjective - as a noun, it means day-labourer, i.e., casual labourer who was hired by the day. However, in Quebec, it applies to all labourers - I don't know abt France. (Female labourers, like some farm workers, get the feminine form of the noun - journalière.) |

Journalier does indeed, as a literal translation mean daily, but is also a term used to denote a daily worker or labourer. |

Thankyou all I have a copy now, thanks Chris :-) and have to check out whether it is one of 'my ' Fishlocks, I have a feeling it isn't though as there is another family with some of the same first names. |
