David, might be worth adding USA to your thread title and nudging it up later in the day when more American members are likely to be on the site.

What happened to my wife's Grandfather Patrick DeCourcey or Courcey. He was born 3rd April 1892 Doohulla,Ballyconnelly,Clifden,Co.Galway,Ireland.Maried Ellen Lacey 6th June1913 in St Martins,R.C.Renton,Dunbartonshire,Scotland.Left his wife and family in Scotland and emigrated to the USA 23/08/1923 ex Glasgow on the SS Columbia, arrived Boston 01/09/1923 went to his sister Mary DeCourcey,77 Temple St,West New Town,Boston. He then moved onto New York probably Rye Westchester,he had an uncle Thomas Courcey who lived there.Thomas is listed in the 1930 US census unfortunately Patrick died the month prior to the census.
I believe that he drove a taxi from Rye beach to Rye station at one time. His death is recorded on his wife's grave in Dumbarton as 17/03/1930 in New York.I had a search for death cert done for NY state and visited NY City records no luck.any help to solve this long time family mystery would be gratefully received. If some like minded person could have look at this I would happily reciprocate by doing research in Scotland re BMD/census/photographs in graveyards etc.
