Hi, thought I'd add some additional facts.....

Obdulia's father is Francisco Arias and her mother Magdalena Gil

Obdulia had two daughters with William Mahoney Alice and Margaret. They married in Gibraltar 6 Jan 1923 thro army posting. William's Command was with The Duke of Wellington's Regiment based in Bastandjic, Turkey.William falls off the radar around 1928ish, 2 years after my mother Margaret was born, never to be seen again circumstances unknown. Obdulia meets Simon Coza and goes on to have 4 further children; Edward, Francis, Maribel and Victor.

Maribel, who was Obdulia's father on the marriage certificate?

Hello Maribel, it's too late now but for future reference avoid that "Mark this as Answered" tick at all costs. What happens is that although it appears that you're marking somebody's response as answered it actually marks the whole thread as completed - it then shows on the main index of Find Ancestors as "Completed" so other researchers may assume you don't want any further help. (We're sick of asking GR to sort it out).

If you want to find other people who are researching the same family then use the "Search members trees" facility under the Search menu above. (The people responding on here aren't connected, we just like finding records for other members).

What was his father's occupation? This should be on the marriage certificate.
Any idea where he was born or if he had any siblings?
His mother's name?
Who were the witnesses at the wedding? They may be relatives.

I'm a bit of a newbie at this and after several weeks of trying to get information on my grandfather, William Mahoney. Born 1902/3 (20 in 1923). Commanded to: 1st Bn, The Duke of Wellington's Regiment, Bastand Jic, Turkey. Posted in Gibraltar (lived in South Barracks), as an army Private and married 6 January 1923 to Obdulia Arias. Had two daughters, Alice and Margaret. William's father also called William Mahoney (Army Marriage Records Certificate verifies this).

These are the facts I know for sure, if anyone recognises the details mentioned or think they have a connection or may be able to help, I would be interested to find out more.
