There is another lewis /Clarke birth same area as Stephen.... but hard to say for sure as there are other Lewis/Clarke marriages around the right time.

thankyou everyone sorry if my repling is messy, i am fairly certain this is the right r.v.lewis and when i was looking a few years ago i did narrow it down to a few and this is one of the ones that fitted , would anyone know how i may find his son who would be stephen j lewis and born in 1954 or any information as if it is the right person i may have a half brother, kind regards teresa

Teresa Report 25 Sep 2013 22:51

this is the same as another lady sent me , thankyou , i dont know how i find out whether it is the right r.v.lewis but it does all seem to fit with the information my birth mother gave me and he had a son stephen who was ten in 1964 , is there anyway i can look uo old businesses as he supposedly had a plant shop in chester road castle bromwich and later in hall green in robin hood lane and i possibly have a half brother if this is correct but i dont know how i find him does anyone know where i should start kind regards teresa

BAILEY Sarah Jane - Aston 6d 660

LEWIS Ernest Harry - Aston 6d 660
Richards Kate Aston 6d 660

***EDIT
No, not the right combination.

This looks to be who Sarah Bailey married

Spouse: Sarah Jane Batten
Birth: abt 1885 - Kineton, Warwickshire, England
Residence: 2 Apr 1911 - Aston, Warwickshire, England

Rambling Report 25 Sep 2013 22:42

Name: Richard V Lewis
Mother's Maiden Surname: Bailey
Date of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1918
Registration District: Aston
Inferred County: Warwickshire
Volume Number: 6d
Page Number: 723

Just to make it clear that it is RV Lewis's mother who was Bailey...not his possible son...as that is how it reads at first glance. :-)

There is a marriage to Clarke which would tie in with the birth of Stephen J in 1954.

yes i have been looking for a few years but unfortunatly my mother only knew his initials as r.v.lewis and she knew him as victor which i assume must have been his middle name, i gave up for a couple of years and have just started looking again and am more confident with the computer ,she did remeber he had a shop in castle bromwich and one in hall green in robin hood lane i have a date and a name from a lady who wrote to me on this site for a birth and death and he had a son . this al sounds like it fits as my mother thought he had a son about ten years old and he was in his forties when he met my birth mother but i dont know where to look to confirm any of this kind regards teresa

Teresa, you already have loads of threads about this, this link shows one of them and has a list of the others

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1157778

You should always go back to a previous thread (use the "my threads" link) and add to it rather than starting new ones where research may be duplicated. Also, your initial query on this thread would have made a lot more sense if added to the last one where it would have been read in context.

sorry i havnt been very clear . i was adopted in the sixties and have managed to find my birth mother but the inffo she had on my father was very limited , this is what i know but only going on memories from my birth mother, his name was r.v.lewis known as victor,he had a shop in chester road castle bromwich selling plants ? and later moved to hall green and had a shop in robin hood lane, a lady did some lookups for me and came back with aThe R.V. Lewis that best fits your description is Richard Victor Lewis born 1918. Unfortunately, he died in 1976. Possible he had a son Stephen J Lewis in 1954. his mothers maiden name was bailey if this is the right man and that is as far as i have got, i have tried for a few years to find any more info but it has been a guessing game as i only had an initial for his first name and i gave up for a couple of years as was not very good at using the computer but have had some lessons though still a novice !! kind regards teresa

If you were one of us.........would you have any idea of what was being requested.

Have you done anything about looking for info yourself?

Which country does this refer to?

Which century?

Andrew

Andrew Report 24 Sep 2013 20:27

There are loads with this surname combination all over the country.

Please, when and where and first names.
